We have devastating news to share with you all.....

Yesterday our Max took a stroke. We rushed him to the wonderful Ashgrove Veterinary Centre but sadly there was nothing to be done but gently help him over the bridge

To say we are devastated is an understatement. Max was more than just a dog.
He was family. Our family!
When he first came to us all those years ago he had so many issues - domestic living for him was a no.
Our cheeky boy had a habit of acting up for potential adopters.
We think he loved us too much to leave He even had one to one lessons with local trainer James - good as gold with him but tyres.... oh did our boy love car tyres!
As time went by Max developed spondylitis and had to be carefully managed with medication.
It was then we had to think about Maxs future and what that might hold for him. So he became a fulltime member of the Mrs Murray's team and our sanctuary dog.
Max loved the kennels. He loved his routine.But he also loved us!!
He loved his boomer ball, peanut butter as it 'helps the medicine go down' He loved cuddles, sniff walks and before he slowed down running round the play area making fools of us as we tried to catch him .
Oh did he know how to make us look silly and you could see the twinkle in his eye all the while.
We are sure he had some good laughs at our expense

Even on monday after his weekly vet check he set his sights on our managers car tyres

He was a rogue but he was our rogue.

He became our poster boy for our fundraising campaign to build a new modern kennel block.
Sadly he wont see this built but he will live on through the build. A place where dogs who have found themselves homeless for various reasons can find shelter and love. Just like he did.
His face graces our new merchandise and will make us smile each time we wear our tshirts.
Max was one of a kind. A rogue, silly, mischievous, smart with a huge heart full of love for us.
Today we have an empty kennel space where the most loved dog in Aberdeen should be.
If we could have had him live forever with us we would.
There's never enough time with our furry family, hug yours tight today and send some love to the team who are still struggling to come to terms with the loss of our amazing boy.
Sleep tight Maxy boy, know that you were loved, so loved by all
