After 23 months/99 weeks/690 days
Our Hunter eventually found his perfect match!!! What a day that was!
An update from his new family:
We just wanted to give you a little update on Hunter.
He has settled in amazingly!
He has been such a good boy, we are so happy with him and how well he has adapted to his new life so far, we really couldn't have asked for an better start with him.
We were expecting some sort of teething problems but we honestly don't have a bad word to say about him.
He travelled home really well, a couple of barks at some random dogs we passed but nothing serious.
When we arrived he investigated the garden, then the house, he was very excited but settled quickly.
After a couple of hours at home we took him for his first walk.
He walked past the horses field. Of course they walked over to see us, he wasn't sure about them and was very focused on them and nothing else, had a bark and a bounce, but the horses weren't fussed and when he didn't get any sort of reaction from them his focus return to me and then he went back to having a sniff.
The next time we passed them he looked but didn't react at all, he did a lovely sit, very relaxed, had a treat and we moved on. He has also passed some of the fields with cows and sheep, I have been pleased with how he has behaved, looked, got excited then realised he isn't supposed to behave like that and moved on.
Each walk he seems to get less excited by them and pays attention to me slightly more.
Deer jumping out on us is a slightly different story but we have managed to get focus back.

He has slept well over night, found his comfy spot on the bed and that's him for the night. Lurcher cuddles are definitely the best!
He is eating well, although we weren't expecting that to be an issue.
When I went to work he accompanied his dad in the jeep for some farm checks which was exciting to start with but then he just slept. He was left on his own in the house, just for an hour or so. When Stephen snuck around to peak through the window to check on him he was fast asleep, upside down on the sofa.
He seems to be very settled, relaxed and happy. It's honestly like he has been here forever. He is a super dog, so much character and we feel extremely lucky to have found him. He just feels like our family and our dog already.
We have yet to experience seeing other dogs but for now we are quite happy getting to know him around the farm in a controlled environment. We are planning a trip to the local dog park soon so he can have a proper zoomie!
Thank you for trusting us to give him a home, we really couldn't have asked any more from him, he has just been the perfect dog so far.
